Road Rules

For daily rides, we will divide into small groups based on skill level. Each group is led by an English-speaking guide/coach who remains in contact with a support van in the vicinity. Support includes mechanical repairs, carrying extra equipment, drinks, lunch transport and first aid.

We follow a carefully planned route daily to provide challenging training. Helmets are required at all times when on the bike. Aerobars are not allowed - we do a lot of climbing and descending and these handlebars are not suitable or safe for group riding, no matter how comfortable you are with them. Also, I-Pods and other ear-phone devices are not allowed during group-rides.

EuroCycler bicycle vacations are designed for riders who are comfortable in group riding, pace lining, capable of long ascents and steep descents and cycling on roads with traffic. EuroCycler trips are not designed for guests who mainly ride comfort or stationary bikes. Neither are they exclusively the provenance of elite cyclists. It is our goal to keep the skill spectrum broad so that many can participate, and therefore we organize several speed groups. But it is a pre-requisite of this trip that you are a safe road rider. Expect to be on the bike 4 - 6 hours per day on consecutive days. On harder rides you should be able to climb for more than an hour on, which can add up to 8,000 vertical feet in a given ride. For those who are close but not entirely up to the fitness challenge, we also offer pre-departure coaching to tune you up for your EuroCycler sport vacation. The right mix of cycling skills and preparation maximizes each of our guest's experience on the trip. We will provide you with as much information about the trip as you need and if you have any questions regarding any of our trips please feel free to contact us.
