Ironman Brazil 2007
Travel with the former Champion
and you can train with him too!

Ever wonder how a professional triathlete prepares for an IronMan title? Dream of picking up tips from triathlon's best to improve your own skills? Just get the itch to get to really push yourself to the next level of racing, inspired by an environment that can really supprt you?

That's why EuroCycler teamed up with Olaf Sabatschus to bring you the spring training camps in Spain, race prepareation in Texas and eventually the IronMan-Brazil event in Florianopolis, held end of every May. Olaf won 04 and 05, and came in 3rd in 06 which makes evens the battle between him and Oscar Galindez who won in 03 and 06. So in May 2007 they will both attempt to win IronMan Brazil again to change the score to 3:2. Have a look at the adventure we experienced in 2006. And in 2007, you are invited to travel along with EuroCycler and follow Olaf. It's a unique opportunity for a small group to train and prepare together and alongside him and getting ready for the race in an inspiring group setting.

This EuroCycler trip to Brazil is open to most level athletes, either intermediate or elite, and of course to spectators as well. So bring your spouse along and make it a nice vacation while you are enjoying your athletic challenges.

An environment that will make you strong.

Here is the concept: Olaf designes his seasonal training agenda with two races to peak for: May in Brazil and October in Kona. His personal training starts in January in his hometown in Germany and in April he relocates to Spain where he is the head coach for the EuroCycler triathlon training camps and clinics. Most level athletes are invited to participate and learn from him and other coaches. Working specifiaclly for women at the camp will Andrea Brede, the German middle-distance champion. Andrea and Olaf will share their training routine, help design yours, invite you to train alongside them, with all the drills, speed and power-workouts of all four disciplines. We at EuroCycler call the fourth discipline nutrition. With Olaf as a well published Nutrition Scientist plus more coaches and guides with their own field of expertise, you can tap into resources that you have probably always dreamt of. The Spain weeks are described in more detail here.

The training camp in El Paso, TX is the next stop. Picutres from the 2005 camp in Texas can be found here. There we will also be joined by Francois Modave, a professional triathlete and mathematician from France. This camp will be held early May and we also accept athletes who don't travel to Brazil with us. Same routine. Under Olaf's leadership we follow a training routine with specific workouts in a camp setting.
The next step is for very strong athletes only. Mid May we have Brazil race preparation camp and the pace will be the taper pace of a professional athlete, which can be much faster than many are used to.

And now the ulitmate: From around May 20 to 30 we are in Brazil with race participants from Europe and the USA. We stay exclusively with EuroCycler and Olaf Sabatschus in Brazil, follow the champion on his attempt to win the triple while you race your own race and at the end we all party with the group.

We will stay in Jurerê in a Pousada which is Portugese and means a small family run hotel. It is located two houses away from the race course and the beach and about one mile away from start and finish. The EuroCycler travel group will not be larger than 20 people. To keep media attention at minimum, we don't disclose our location on the internet. Believe us, this place is the charming, intimate hotel with private garden you have been looking for. Click here to see a few photos. The host knows guests are athletes and how to treat them with healthy calories needed daily for breakfast. And to connect with the world you will have access to free WiFi with your laptop. That's performance vacation EuroCycler style.

Our host in Jurerê is Gennifer who represents EuroCycler in Brazil . Gennifer is one of the local endurance sports enthusiasts and has organized many charity runs and other sports events. She owns and works for a local sport and coaching center and is very familiar with the domestic surroundings. She will help the EuroCycler guests for local transportation, running errands, facilitating connections to massage centers, bicycle shops, special dietary needs, restaurants, parties and more. Gennifer is also the main initiator of the triathlon workshop Brazil in Jurere where Olaf Sabatschus, Roberto Lemos and Richard Debrot were guest speakers in 2006.
